Nottingham

Naomi is a portrait, event and documentary photographer. Driven by a deep curiosity and a keen eye for the overlooked details of everyday life, she uses her lens to uncover and celebrate the beauty in the ordinary. Her work is rooted in a strong interest in culture, identity, and feminism—themes that have consistently shaped her personal and emotive photographic practice.   Naomi loves connecting with others, delving into their stories and documenting their voices through visual storytelling.

My Story

Naomi began her photography journey at Nottingham College before moving to Bristol to continue her studies at the University of the West of England, gaining a First-Class Honours in BA Photography.   Relocating from her family home sparked a personal exploration into themes of Black culture, family and identity. This shift inspired Naomi to reflect on what it means to live away from her roots and how these experiences have shaped her sense of self.   Her personal work is shaped by a continuous curiosity and a desire to tell heartfelt, authentic stories.  Known for ‘Grandad’, a personal project that delves into her Grandad’s life and has been exhibited in exhibitions around the UK, online platforms and digital billboards. She has also been commissioned by organisations such as The School of Life and Wellcome Collection to tell the stories of others.  Looking ahead, she hopes to collaborate with like-minded creatives, educators and communities. Naomi has a particular interest in facilitating workshops in UK schools to explore ideas of belonging and demonstrate how photography can be used as a therapeutic, expressive tool for storytelling and self-discovery.
