I’ve always been fascinated by the way images can capture a moment and tell a story. My journey into photography actually started with an interest in videography and filmmaking. After creating my first interview/documentary at university, I knew I wanted to explore visual storytelling further. I decided to start with photography and see where it took me… and, needless to say, I’ve stuck with it! I fell in love with the ability to capture and create moments that can last a lifetime. I love the freedom photography gives you to be creative, experiment and continually try something new. There are so many possibilities and so much to explore within this space. Today, I’m a London-based photographer and the creative behind Anmarievisuals, focusing on portraits, events and behind-the-scenes photography. My approach centres around people, connection and storytelling, and I’m particularly drawn to natural interactions, expressions and those smaller moments that can sometimes go unnoticed. Behind-the-scenes photography is an area I’m excited to explore further. In many ways, it feels like things have come full circle from my original interest in film and documentary. I love capturing what happens beyond the main moment — the preparation, personalities, creativity and energy that form part of the wider story. But portrait photography will always have my heart. There’s nothing quite like a good portrait session — bouncing around ideas, experimenting and creating a little bit of magic together. I love seeing an idea come to life and creating images that allow someone to see themselves in a way they perhaps haven’t before. Through Anmarievisuals, I want to continue developing my craft, experimenting creatively and working with more individuals, creatives, brands and productions, creating work that feels warm, authentic and true to the moment.
